1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Gatr platform — including browsing events, purchasing tickets, registering as an organizer, or listing a venue — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Your continued use after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version.

2. Platform Role Disclaimer

Gatr is a technology platform connecting users, organizers, and venues. Gatr is not responsible for event execution or third-party services. Gatr does not own, operate, or manage any event or venue listed on the platform. All contractual obligations related to event delivery rest with the organizer. Gatr's role is limited to facilitating the discovery, ticketing, and payment process.

3. Eligibility & User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use Gatr. By creating an account, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Gatr reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Final Sale Policy

All transactions are final. Tickets, fees, and purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable except where required by law. Once a ticket purchase is confirmed, no cancellation or exchange is permitted unless the event itself is cancelled by the organizer. Chargebacks initiated outside of this policy may result in account suspension.

5. Gatr Credits System

All Gatr credits, balances, or stored value are non-withdrawable, cannot be converted into cash, and remain within the Gatr ecosystem. Gatr credits do not constitute a bank deposit, e-money, or financial instrument under the laws of Uganda or any other jurisdiction. Credits have no monetary value outside the platform and may be adjusted, expired, or terminated at Gatr's discretion in accordance with applicable law.

6. Event Variability

Events and venues may change, be postponed, or canceled. Gatr is not liable for such changes. Organizers are solely responsible for notifying ticket holders of any material changes to their events. In the event of a cancellation, refund eligibility is subject to the organizer's stated refund policy and Gatr's Final Sale Policy above. Gatr will make reasonable efforts to communicate known changes to affected users.

7. Organizer Responsibilities

Individuals or entities registering as event organizers on Gatr confirm that they have the legal authority to organize and publish events on this platform. Organizers are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, including but not limited to event licensing, venue permits, taxation, and health and safety regulations. Organizers agree not to publish misleading event information and to honor all ticket purchases made through the platform.

8. Venue Owner Responsibilities

Individuals registering as venue owners confirm that they are authorized to represent and manage their venue on the Gatr platform. Venue owners are responsible for the accuracy of all venue information listed, including capacity, amenities, and availability. Gatr is not a party to any agreement between an organizer and a venue owner.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: (a) use the platform for any unlawful purpose; (b) resell tickets in violation of applicable law or at prices above face value without authorization; (c) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; (d) attempt to circumvent any security or access control on the platform; (e) use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or abuse platform systems; or (f) impersonate any person or entity. Violations may result in immediate account termination and may be referred to relevant authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

Gatr is not liable for damages, losses, or injuries arising from platform use or event participation. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gatr's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Gatr in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Gatr is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Gatr platform — including logos, design, software, text, and graphics — is the property of Gatr or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Gatr content without express written permission. User-generated content (such as event descriptions or venue photos) remains the property of the submitting party, but you grant Gatr a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display such content on the platform.

12. Data Collection & Use (Uganda DPA 2019)

Gatr collects identity and contact information, usage behavior, location data, and transaction history. This data is used for platform functionality, personalization, marketing communications, and analytics. All data processing is conducted in accordance with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act (2019). By using the platform, you consent to this data collection as described. Gatr will not sell your personal data to third parties without your explicit consent.

13. Your Data Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data in accordance with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act (2019) and applicable law. To exercise any of these rights, contact Gatr at support@mygatr.com. We will respond to all verifiable data-subject requests within 30 days. You also have the right to withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.

14. Changes to These Terms

Gatr reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email or in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after notification of a material change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Uganda.

16. Electronic Consent

Your agreement to these Terms, whether indicated by clicking "I Agree," checking a consent box, or continuing to use the platform after notification of updated Terms, is legally binding and equivalent to a signed document under applicable Ugandan law. All consents are logged with a UTC timestamp and are subject to Gatr's consent management system.
